VOIS Executive Director
This is a permanent, flexible position starting at 20 hours per week with the possibility of increasing to full-time with benefits.
We are looking for a highly organized and strategic leader who has the ability to manage the interests of many strong internal stakeholders and simultaneously engage with outside stakeholders in the sustainable business and policy realms. The successful candidate will not only get goosebumps upon reading the VOIS vision and mission, but will also be self-motivated and entrepreneurial, and highly networked with people and organizations in the sustainable industries and/or policy realms. Other skills and experience sought: fundraising or sales experience, strong communication skills–verbal, written and oral (including public speaking), experience with organizational development and perhaps (bonus) event planning experience. Qualifications include bachelor’s degree or similar relevant working experience (graduate degree a plus), demonstrated experience working with nonprofit organizations, established commitment to sustainability. The scope of work will include growing the membership base and promoting the organization by working with the board to expand and implement the existing growth plan; financial management (along with the board, CPA and bookkeeper); oversight of program related services such as events and educational programs; substantial administrative work as needed and oversight of administrative intern(s). As the first employee of a start-up nonprofit, this position demands the wearing of many hats and the willingness to do whatever needs to be done. Compensation will be based on experience and the demonstrated ability to grow the organization.
